Oversimplified Tech
"For returning "washday" to our lives, Hands Rosling suggest, the washing machine deserves to be called the greatest invention of the Industrial Revolution" -Stephen Pinker.
Early 20th century inventions such as the washing machine and refrigerators have had a profound impact on the society. These inventions allowed for us to have more times in our weeks and be able to liberate us from doing unwanted tasks. Similarily in our modern society, smart phones and applications are focusing in simplifying our daily lives to make us more productive and efficient. In summer of 2020, I cofounded a consumer electronics company named Oversimplified Tech. In the early phases of this company's developmentm, we focused on prototyping and developing different hardware based on AVR architecture. One of our first projects was creating motion sensor LED that were individally addressed using an ATMega328p.
Thirty milion Americans suffer from diabetes and another eighty milion are pre-diabetic. An essential component of clinical intervention for this condition is monitoring dietary intakes. In this project we focused on creating a data collection platform that integraded motion and heart activity, collected through iPhone and Apple Watch sensors, with data retrieved from a Contious Glucos Monitor (CGM). A CGM consists of a small electrode inserted under the skin to measure glucose in the interstitial fluid, and a transmitter that sends the information to a monitoring device. The main goal of this project is to develop new estimation algorithms capable of modeling the glucose response to mixed meals and estimating the meals’ macronutrient composition.
Aggie Outdoor
During my second year in college, I was on the recruitment team for my organization Aggie Outdoor and made this recruitment video. Most of the footage from this video was captured by me, or sent by Aggie Outdoors members, and I editted and put everything together.
High Sierra Trail
Summer of 2017, 5 of my friends and I went on a backpacking trip through the High Sierras. This is a 72 mile trail going through Sequoia National Park, California and crossing the Sierra Nevada from west to east. During our hike, we encountered several challenges; some of which may have costed us our lives. But through team work and helping each other we were able to get through and it made for my first ever video project.
